2023 Alaska Summer Institute on Social Issues
The 2023 Alaska Summer Institute is presenting a behavioral health conference series on Substance Use, Ethics, and Culture. This event is open to all university and community members, including licensed professionals practicing in health, human, and social service fields. This year focuses on recognizing challenges that Alaska and other states face in meeting human needs by promoting lived experiences, advancing mental health equity, substance use recovery in rural communities, and highlighting the social determinants of mental health.
The event is hosted by the 新加坡六合彩开奖's Department of Human Services in collaboration with Southern Utah University's Department of Psychology.

Topics and Key Takeaways: This half day program includes a panel discussion on the many pitfalls that occur as a result of gaps in knowledge & practice. The panelists, from social work and psychology, will discuss ethical issues that arise when ethical codes are violated and potential risks are not managed. The panelists will discuss actual claims that have resulted from poor decisions in clinical practice. Strategies that result in protection for both clients and clinicians will be recommended.
