Cultural Compass: Shaping Recovery and Ethical Foundations


The Department of Human Services presents the 2024 Alaska Summer Institute's behavioral health conference series. This event is open to all university and community members, as well as licensed health, human, and social service professionals.

This year, the focus is on understanding the complex interplay between culture and identity and how culture and ethics influence these dynamics. Practitioners from Alaska and other states grappling with similar issues are encouraged to attend. Don't miss out on this upcoming virtual conference series!

Continuing Education Activities


Obtain up to 15 contact hours of continuing education offered through the мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½± Department of Human Services. Contact hours may apply towards a variety of professional licenses:

  • Clinical Social Workers
  • Behavioral and Mental Health Clinicians
  • Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapist
  • Health Education Providers
  • Case Management Specialists
  • Community Health Providers
  • Psychologists
  • And other types of licensed professionals

Click on each agenda for further details on the contact hours offered. Contact hours may be applicable to meet the State of Alaska's requirements for licensed social workers by the as stated in the Alaska (12 AAC 18.220. Approved Continuing Education Activity). To obtain continuing education credit through an external agency, participants will need to submit evidence of contact hours to that agency. It is up to the participant to submit their Certificate(s) of Attendance for consideration by the appropriate body that grants their credits for continuing educational activities.
