Know the Steps to Participate
1. Apply for graduation
A graduation application must be submitted to participate in the commencement ceremonies. For application steps, visit the Registrar's Office/Degree Services. Remember these deadlines:
- November 8, 2024 - Deadline to apply for fall graduation and be recognized in the commencement program.
- December 6, 2024 - Deadline to apply for fall graduation and participate in the fall commencement ceremony.
2. RSVP for the ceremony
An RSVP is required for all participating graduates. The RSVP link will open on this page at the beginning of October. See our How to Participate page for more information about the ceremony. The deadline to RSVP is Dec. 6.
3. Order cap, gown and tassel from the .
A hood is also required for master's and doctoral degree candidates. Visit the Seawolf Store during Homecoming Week to receive a discount off graduation items (dates and discount to be posted). Remember these deadlines:
- December TBA - Last day to purchase regalia online to receive by mail
- December TBA - Last day to purchase regalia online and pick up in person at the Seawolf Store
- December 15, 2024 - Last day to purchase regalia in person at the Seawolf Store Kiosk (next to the Alaska Airlines Center box office)
Guests
December ceremonies have general admission seating. Guest tickets or advance reservations are not required - bring as many guests as you want!
Student Speaker
Interested in being the student commencement speaker? The deadline to apply is Sunday, Oct. 6 by 11:59 p.m.
Sashes, Stoles and Cords
Stoles or sashes are distributed by affiliated clubs or departments (athletics hands out athletic graduate stoles, ROTC hands out the ROTC stoles, etc.). Military cords are handed out in the auxiliary gym the day of commencement. Institutional Honor Cords for Latin Honors are given to graduating students by the Registrar's Office during check-in/registration.

When you RSVP for commencement, you give мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½± permission to take photographs or video of you at the event and to use the photographs or video in its print and internet publications and productions, including advertising, signage and promotional materials, and for commercial purposes.

Graduates, congratulations on your tremendous achievement! You'll be contacted by email toward the beginning of January with information about picking up your diploma. To ensure receipt of this information, please make sure your preferred email and mailing addresses are current in .
