September is National College Savings Month! To raise awareness about education savings, Alaska 529 is supporting initiatives that encourage families to evaluate their education savings needs and goals.
Join us in participating in the 鈥淭his Kid is Going Places鈥� T-shirt giveaway and the 鈥淭his is My Dream Job鈥� sweepstakes!
- T-shirt giveaway: Be one of the first 700 people to request an inspiring free T-shirt from Alaska 529 for a child age 14 or younger.
- 鈥淭his is My Dream Job鈥� sweepstakes: Creatively showcase your child鈥檚 dream job by entering the 鈥淭his is My Dream Job鈥� sweepstakes for a chance to win one of nine, $529 contributions into their 529 account. This is a great way to engage your child in a discussion about their future.
Alaska 529 is an investment account specifically designed to help families save for future education expenses in a tax-advantaged way. Earnings grow tax-deferred, and qualified distributions are exempt from federal taxes, allowing your savings to grow faster than if they were in a taxable account.
Offered to Alaskans as a way to save for any path they may choose, Alaska 529 is based here at the University of Alaska and complements the UA Tuition Waiver. Funds cover a variety of qualified expenses, including tuition, books, fees, housing, food, computers and other required education expenses.
