The Department of Biological Sciences has completed the search process for the position of assistant professor in applied environmental microbiology and would like to invite you to a series of presentations given by the candidates. The department is pleased to invite you to the second presentation given by Brandon Briggs, Ph.D., on Thursday, Jan. 15. Briggs talk is tilted "Disentangling surface deposited microbes from endemic microbes in a terrestrial hot spring."

Briggs received his B.S. in biological sciences and M.S. in microbiology from Idaho State University, and received his doctorate in oceanography from Oregon State University. Brandon is currently a visiting assistant professor and a C-DEBI Postdoctoral Fellow at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and teaches an array of courses on the topics of geomicrobiology, environmental geology and the chemistry of earth systems.
