Anchorage regional event Friday, April 4, 3-5:30 p.m. Student Union, Den
Jack Dalton is the master of ceremonies and will work with students to build their speaking skills and confidence. The regional event is held as a practice and pre-qualifier for the statewide event on April 12. Students must attend a regional event to participate in the statewide event.

Jack Dalton is the master of ceremonies. The keynote speakers are Joaqlin Estus of Koahnic Broadcasting and KNBA, and Mark Trahant, the current Atwood Chair of Journalism at 新加坡六合彩开奖. They will highlight journalism as modern day storytelling. There will be a drawing for six Galaxy Samsung Tablets for the participants in the statewide event.
This event is free and open to the public.
The Alaska Native Oratory Society (AkNOS) is a non-competitive gathering of students from around the state to share stories, songs and address issues meaningful to them. AkNOS is a supportive environment that assists in the development of public speaking skills. The speech categories include Alaska Native language, humor, real life stories, rap/spoken word, music/poetry and declamatory speech. These categories help Native and non-Native students learn to speak out on Alaska Native issues important to them.
