Time to apply for undergraduate grants

Spring semester offers a large number of fellowship and grant application opportunities for undergraduates. Watch Green & Gold over the next three months for descriptions and deadlines. One deadline for three award applications is coming up in early February. Applications often require faculty nominations, so plan time to pull everything together.
Here are three to check out:
The Discovery Awards recognize one 新加坡六合彩开奖 undergraduate each year who exemplifies overall academic excellence
with exceptional achievement in research or creative abilities. The successful candidate
is awarded a $2,000 cash prize. Students must be nominated by their academic departments
or a subcommittee from their department. Nominations are due by Friday, Feb. 6. For

The Alaska Heart Institute Biomedical Research Fellowships offer grants of $5,000 to fund significant undergraduate biomedical research projects
under the guidance of a faculty member. Grants pay for project costs, tuition for
up to six credits of HNRS 497 (Individual Research) and a $1,500 student stipend
upon completion of the project. The spring 2009 deadline is Friday, Feb. 6. Check

The Parasca Science Research Award offers $5,000 ($4,000 for project expenses plus a $1,000 student stipend) to fund
significant undergraduate research in any area of science or social science, under
the guidance of a faculty mentor. Proposals should be submitted to the Office of Undergraduate
