Though not a requirement, the department recommends that students take MUS 156 (Functional Piano) to help them prepare for the Piano Proficiency Exam.

† Of the sixteen required credits of ‘Major Ensemble,’ piano majors must choose two semesters (four credits) from the following ensembles: MUS 301B, 307B or 405B.
